In a hurry?

Here are some selected paragraphs from recent projects to give you a quick sense of my writing.

  • AI has found its voice, and startups are listening: How disruptors can capitalize on one of 2025’s top emerging markets

“Fast-forward to the AI space race we’re living in today, and improvements in performance and latency have enabled the potential applications of voice AI to skyrocket. From call centers, to hospitality, healthcare, and language learning——new possibilities seem to present themselves by the day. That sort of thing doesn’t go unnoticed, and a flywheel of investor interest, startup innovation, and changing consumer behaviors have left voice AI primed to make some serious vibrations in the months and years ahead.”

  • Ammonia as a fuel: the key to heavy industry decarbonisation?

“Summer, 1909. The world’s population is growing and it’s hungry. A scarcity of natural fertilizers means that science alone now stands between the global masses and certain famine. At his laboratory in Karlsruhe, Germany, Industrial chemist Fritz Haber is busy demonstrating a groundbreaking process for converting atmospheric nitrogen into ammonia under immense heat and pressure. In less than five years’ time, chemical engineer Carl Bosch will demonstrate the same process at an industrial scale and, in doing so, change our world forever.“

  • Mendel reimagines how healthcare workers interface with patient data on AWS

“Whenever we find ourselves sat across from a doctor or nurse, we want to know that they have access to whatever they need to administer the highest level of care. In today’s world, that means data. Every note taken, medication prescribed, or test result received while caring for a patient is part of an evolving story that is unique to them. Healthcare professionals need access to both individualized data and broader contextual data to make informed decisions about the treatment we receive.”

  • Swallowing the fish: CyberArk’s journey to SaaS on AWS

“When a software company first switches to SaaS, revenues drop as large upfront contracts are replaced by smaller monthly fees. At the same time, infrastructure costs rise to support new SaaS offerings. As subscriptions grow, revenue builds, and costs decline due to improved delivery efficiency. Eventually, recurring revenue surpasses costs.

If you plot the above onto a graph, it would resemble, you guessed it, a fish. But a graph isn’t a guarantee, and for many business leaders, swallowing the fish seems about as risky as eating three-day-old sushi or kissing a piranha. But it doesn’t have to be that way. While every company’s journey differs, developing a solid action plan is the first step toward SaaS success.”

But wait, there’s more...

My best work isn’t public——but it is easy to access. All it takes is one message to see more. Don’t worry, you’re not signing up to anything, I just need to know where to send the link.

Their words, not mine

“Case studies are one of the most compelling ways I tell my brand's story, and my work with Jake was to get to the heart of the story for some of the most influential startup founders today, while also driving engagement with our solutions. That involved interviewing passionate founders and technical experts to uncover the points of tension, challenges, and triumph that underpin any great narrative.

Throughout our work together, Jake was an energetic collaborator, and his writing demonstrated depth and flexibility to match the brand and story tone. He consistently captured the unique voice of our partners, while staying true to our objectives. I wouldn’t hesitate to work with him again!”

Hannah Wall, Global Head of Content, AWS Startups.

"Please don’t use Jake. You don’t need his professionalism and ability to turn the most complex brief into simple, entertaining copy. You don’t need his finely tuned concepts and eloquent thought leadership. And you certainly don’t need his unflagging positivity and enthusiasm. I do."

Jonathan Bradley, Head of Creative, UK Luxid Group.

"I can always count on Jake to ask the unexpected question that digs deeper into the heart of the story. He understands that we are constantly bombarded with content and messaging, and story is what will break through and stop us in our tracks——no matter the topic. Jake creates thought leadership and content that inspires and performs, a winning combo."

Rebecca Bedrossian, Head of Editorial Content, AWS.

"Working with Jake helped us develop and share more engaging stories with our audience. As a clean tech startup, content that educates and inspires is essential to attracting prospects, partners, and investors. Jake’s strategic approach and clear writing style helped us promote world-first innovations, demystify complex chemical conversions, and position ourselves as a trusted industry commentator. Professional, creative, and always reliable——highly recommend!"
